How To Get Over a Mood
One of the most frustrating things that can happen to you in a morning is when something puts you in a bad mood. It sets the tone for the whole day. For those of us who have to watch our energy, we know that emotions take a huge toll, so we try and keep them in check as much as possible. Recently I found these 11 tips to get over a bad mood and thought I’d share them:
- Divert your focus
- Change your body posture (if you have to stay where you are)
- Take a break and have a warm drink
- Do something that generally guarantees a smile
- Listen to your favorite music
- Stay in, and enjoy, the present
- Give something to someone
- Avoid emotional vampires
- Do some exercise
- Watch your words, speak positive
- Be prepared
I’d also add my own
- Just Make a decision to try and overcome the mood
So many times we say we don’t feel like doing something, when really it’s simply about a decision. If you are in a bad mood, nothing is different, just make a decision to get out!
Anyway the full version is definitely worth a read, so head on over…
After years of watching both physical states and mental states, I see that nothing stays constant unless I hang onto it. Pain, lethargy, and bad moods come and go, but they don’t go nearly so fast if I think they are going to hang around (like feeling bad when you wake up, and thinking that it’s going to be bad the whole day). Mostly I try a “oh, look, pessimism. That’s been here before. Now what’s for breakfast?”.
