Hello Everyone! A brand new beginning for NRG!

A Big Hello to all readers! Just to give an update, Coops has been very busy with his real life commitments recently. I am glad to be asked to continue blogging in his blog though I am sure Coops will post abit here and there sometimes right David ;)
As for me, just a short introduction, I am James and I am a webmaster of several sites. I live in Singapore, am still young just 18 this year :P But I have been through a lot in life. And yeah I agree that tiredness is something that all of us face all the time. I went through heavy depression some years back. But I am doing good right now though work has been stretching me quite a bit as well.

Nonetheless I will be finding out tips on exercise, how to get out of fatigue , overcoming depressions and much more in the days to come. I will be posting my research here so everyone can benefit from it.

Dear readers, if there are any other topics you would like me to touch on, feel free to let me know by leaving me a comment :) I hope to get to know ya all better! Cheers~

How To Get Over a Mood

Bad moodOne of the most frustrating things that can happen to you in a morning is when something puts you in a bad mood. It sets the tone for the whole day. For those of us who have to watch our energy, we know that emotions take a huge toll, so we try and keep them in check as much as possible. Recently I found these 11 tips to get over a bad mood and thought I’d share them:

  1. Divert your focus
  2. Change your body posture (if you have to stay where you are)
  3. Take a break and have a warm drink
  4. Do something that generally guarantees a smile
  5. Listen to your favorite music
  6. Stay in, and enjoy, the present
  7. Give something to someone
  8. Avoid emotional vampires
  9. Do some exercise
  10. Watch your words, speak positive
  11. Be prepared

I’d also add my own

  • Just Make a decision to try and overcome the mood
So many times we say we don’t feel like doing something, when really it’s simply about a decision. If you are in a bad mood, nothing is different, just make a decision to get out!

Anyway the full version is definitely worth a read, so head on over

3 Ways to Keep Yourself Entertained when Exercising

WorkoutIf you are like me, you find small continual repetitions boring. This is a tough dilema when it comes to keeping a consistent exercise routine, as I would much rather do… almost anything else than just stand there and exercise. For most of you, your exercise routine wouldn’t go for more than 10 minutes per day, but that is long enough to keep yourself entertained. Here are three things you can do to keep yourself going:

1. Watch the morning/evening news. While your exercise only lasts for 10 minutes, just go for the headlines and the first story.
2. Listen to a small segment on the radio. If you exercise at the same time everyday, a small segment could be just the ticket to bust the boredom. Just don’t forget to change exercises.
3. Put on a CD you love. Make sure the music has a little bit of energy, so you don’t fall asleep, but don’t feel like you have to keep up with the tempo. Change exercises with each verse.

Possible Cause: You’re just not excited enough!

This is the first in a Thinking Thursdays series of possible causes to fatigue (besides that late night).

“You’re just not excited enough” is probably the worst way to describe it. In fact, I’m probably totally wrong with that, but I’m not a med student, so I’ll plead ignorance.

The real phrase would be something like the under-stimulation of the adrenal glands. In other words, you aren’t handling stress or excitement well. I couldn’t come accross any specific treatment, so if you know of some, let me know. But there are diagnostic tests that are used: one is where they stimulate the glands, and the other is simply a CT scan.

For the really interested, checkout this research article (you’ll need to pay I think). Others have talked about this, so if you have any experience  or knowledge, speak up! (For example, it might be caused by caffeine?)
